It is always recommended to conduct a patch test before using any new skincare product (we hear you, who actually does this?). A patch test is the safest way to ensure that your skin is going to be completely happy with your new product especially if you have known allergies to certain ingredients.
All of our Ivadore skincare is designed to be as gentle as possible on your skin by using levels of ingredients that will not increase risk of irritation and by using no harsh synthetic fragrances. We know that everyone is different and each of us has different tolerance levels, so if you are worried do a little patch test to be sure.
Before conducting a patch test, start by reading through our ingredients list to check whether there are any ingredients that you already know might cause a reaction.
Pick an area that is close to where you would normally apply the product. For the face, you might choose to use the neck and for the body you might choose to test on the inside of your forearm or thigh.
Before testing the product, make sure you have thoroughly cleansed the area
Keep an eye on your test patch area over the next 24 hours. You are looking for any major changes to your skin such as severe itching, redness and raised welts. If you find that your skin is relatively unchanged, you can consider it safe to continue use.
Some of our products use ingredients that will cause a slight tingling, these are generally ingredients that contain natural acids such as AHA, Alpha Hydroxy Acid. Any reaction to these will subside relatively quickly and should not cause continued irritation.
